Fifth grade classes have been working diligently at creating visual representations of their character traits. Once they wrote down the character traits that described themselves, they were able to turn their words into a Word Cloud through a free website called "Tagxedo".
A word cloud is a visual representation of text that has the ability to amplify frequently-used words while also giving users the tools to turn their collection of words into shapes.

In this particular activity, students focused on creating a word cloud that described their character. They designed every aspect of their Word Cloud from the font style, size and color, to the shape in which their words were displayed.
The following are a couple of words of advice from Ms. Smith, on how to best utilize time and resources when creating Word Clouds:
- Have students make Word Clouds as a station
- Choose one or two student Tech leaders to assist with downloading and saving word clouds to Dropbox
